Achy, stiff low back? Meet your psoas—your deep hip flexor and the primary muscle connecting your upper body to your lower body. Often referred to as the “seat of the soul,” the psoas plays a key role in posture, mobility, and spinal support. When this muscle becomes tight, it can contribute to chronic low back discomfort. When it’s weak, we may experience mobility issues or difficulty lifting the knee. This gentle floor practice will help you locate and connect with your psoas while gently stretching and strengthening it to support a healthier, more supported low back. No props are necessary for this practice, but you might enjoy a blanket over your mat.
